Silver Earring Workshop

Learn how to make a pair of silver earrings from scratch in this three hour earring making workshop. Suitable for complete beginners. You will learn a range of jewellery making techniques from filing, sawing and soldering to forming and polishing in order to complete your pair of silver earrings. You will have the option to choose from studs, drop earrings or hoops.

Megan will show you examples on the day of the type of earrings you might like to make before receiving a demonstration on how to make the different types.

Wax Carve and Cast a Silver Ring or Pendant

Learn the process of both wax carving, and casting in this full day jewellery making workshop. We will first explore the processes involved in wax carving by filing, sanding and carving a piece of jewellers wax. This wax model will then be used to make a sand cast or cuttlefish cast mould from. Once your ring has been cast in sterling silver, I will demonstrate how to clean up and apply a polished or matte finish to your ring/pendant which will then be ready to wear and take home. We will make the ring by melting scrap silver to create new jewellery using a crucible and pouring into different mould types (for example cuttlefish/sand casting). Silver for your ring is included in the cost of the course.

The workshop is suitable for beginners or those with some jewellery making experience. You will learn a range of jewellery making techniques from wax carving, to casting and how to clean up the piece ready to wear.

Silver Ring with Gemstone Workshop

Learn how to make a silver ring with a semi precious gemstone from scratch in this seven hour ring making workshop. Suitable for complete beginners or those with some jewellery making experience. You will learn a range of jewellery making techniques from soldering and sawing to forming, polishing and setting in order to complete your silver and gemstone ring. You will have the option to choose which gemstone you would like to choose for your ring, or alternatively get in touch with Megan prior to your workshop if you want to use one of your own.

Silver Ring Workshop

Learn how to make a silver ring from scratch in this two hour ring making workshop. Suitable for complete beginners. You will learn a range of jewellery making techniques from filing, soldering and sawing to forming and polishing in order to complete your silver ring. You will have the option to choose different types of silver wire and can choose to upgrade to a stacking set (2 rings) on the day for an additional £10.

Silver Bangle Workshop

Learn how to make a silver bangle from scratch in this two hour bangle making workshop. Suitable for complete beginners. You will learn a range of jewellery making techniques from filing and sawing to forming and polishing in order to complete your silver bangle. You will have the option to choose different types of silver wire and can choose to upgrade to a chunky/wide bangle on the day for an additional £10. See images for examples of each.

Make a Recycled Gold/Silver Ring or Bangle

Learn how to recycle and remodel your old, unworn jewellery in this full day hour workshop. Bring along your own gold or silver to melt down and transform into a new piece of jewellery or use Megan’s scrap gold for a fee (approx £100-150 for a ring in 9ct). Please ensure the pieces you are bringing have a hallmark on them to show the metal quality, if in doubt just get in touch and we can advise. If your pieces have gemstones in them these can be removed at the beginning of the workshop before melting the metal down.

Once you have melted down your old jewellery, you can choose to make a ring/stacking rings or a bangle depending on how much metal you have. See images for examples. At least 5 grams is recommended to make a ring.

Suitable for complete beginners or those who have taken part in a beginner level workshop before. You will learn a range of jewellery making techniques from filing, soldering and sawing to forming and polishing in order to complete your silver and gold rings. You will have the option to choose between 2 x silver and 1 x 9ct gold ring, or have three silver rings with 9ct gold granule details on them. You will be provided with all the materials required for the workshop (which includes approx 1.5 grams of 9ct gold). The stacking rings can be smooth/hammered texture and you can decided to have a polished or matte finish on the rings.
