Make a Recycled Gold/Silver Ring or Bangle
Level - Beginner/Intermediate
Duration - 7 Hours (includes lunch break)
Learn how to recycle and remodel your old, unworn jewellery in this full day workshop. Bring along your own gold or silver to melt down and transform into a new piece of jewellery or use Megan’s scrap gold for a fee (approx £100-150 for a ring in 9ct). Please ensure the pieces you are bringing have a hallmark on them to show the metal quality, if in doubt just get in touch and we can advise. If your pieces have gemstones in them these can be removed at the beginning of the workshop before melting the metal down.
Once you have melted down your old jewellery, you can choose to make a ring/stacking rings or a bangle depending on how much metal you have. See images for examples. At least 5 grams is recommended to make a ring and 20 grams for a bangle.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners or those with some jewellery making experience. You will learn a range of jewellery making techniques from melting, soldering and sawing to forming and polishing in order to complete your remodel.
Please note, in the workshop you will be making a plain/textured ring or bangle and unfortunately it’s not possible to reset gemstones during the workshop due to time limitations. If you are looking to have gemstones set into your piece after the workshop, please email megan@meganfalconer.com prior to booking so we can give you an estimate cost for this.

All you need to bring with you is glasses if you need them for close up work and please wear workshop appropriate clothing (no open toe shoes).
The workshop will take place at my NEW studio at Woolmill, Craigievar, Alford, AB33 8JE. There is free parking at the studios.
