Forge a Silver Ring Workshop

Learn how to transform a bar of recycled silver into a forged, chunky silver ring in this three hour workshop. In this class, you will learn how to manipulate silver using a forging hammer to stretch the metal into a chunky/textured band. Once you have forged the bar of silver, demonstrations will be given to show you how to turn it into a ring to fit your finger. Techniques involved include - forging, rolling, soldering, filing, sawing and polishing.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners or those with some jewellery making experience.

Saturday 9th November 2024 (1-5pm)

Friday 28th February 2025 (1-5pm)

All you need to bring with you is glasses if you need them for close up work and please wear workshop appropriate clothing (no open toe shoes).

The workshop will take place at my studio at Deemouth Artist Studios, Torry. There is parking (subject to availability) at the studios, on street parking on South Esplanade East or alternatively only a 10 minute walk from Aberdeen Bus/Train station.
