Silver Ring with Faceted Gemstone Workshop

Level - Intermediate

Duration - 7 Hours (includes lunch break)

Learn how to make a silver ring with a semi precious faceted gemstone from scratch in this full day ring making workshop. Suitable for those who have attended a taster workshop before or with some jewellery making experience. You will learn a range of jewellery making techniques from soldering and sawing to forming, polishing and setting in order to complete your silver and gemstone ring. You will have the option to choose which gemstone you would like to choose for your ring, or alternatively get in touch with Megan prior to your workshop if you want to use one of your own.

Megan will teach you how to use stone setting burrs with accuracy using the pendant drill in order to provide a secure setting for your chosen gemstone.

Examples of gemstones to choose from:

• Aquamarine

• Tourmaline

• Garnet

• Amethyst

All you need to bring with you is glasses or optivisors for close up work if you need them for close up work and please wear workshop appropriate clothing (no open toe shoes).

The workshop will take place at my NEW studio at Woolmill, Craigievar, Alford, AB33 8JE. There is free parking at the studios.
